Mugecuo Scenic Area (木格措)
3778m asl, situated in the north of Kangding County, this site is also known as Kangding Love Song Scenic Area. As a main attraction within Mount Gongga, the whole site occupies an area of about 300 sqkm, integrating pristine landscape. Mugecuo Lake 3700m is a large plateau lake, the water surface covers about 3 sqkm and the deepest point is more than 70m below the sea level. The lake is surrounded by pines, cedars, and rhododendron trees on three sides and neighboring the vast Tagong Grassland on the rest side. Connecting Wild Man Lake, Rhododendron Valley is a gorgeous belt traversing the scenic area. More than 68 kinds of rhododendrons are growing here. When all the rhododendrons are in blossom, the valley becomes a world of flowers. Continuing downward Yaochi Feiquan, the amazing boiling springs with medical effects, containing lots of trace elements beneficial to health. About 3000m far from the boiling springs, there is the Seven-Color Lake, also a plateau lake. The lake surface takes the shape of a crescent, covering approximately 20 hectares. The tones of the lake vary among seven colors according to weather conditions, hence its name. The last major spot is the Fragrant Grassland, which leads to the exit of Mugecuo Scenic Area

Tagong Town (塔公)
3772m asl, also known as Lhagang is a small town 310 km from Chengdu, located at the east of Tibet, the historical Kham region. The town of Tagong features traditional Tibetan-style houses built from stone. Tagong in Tibetan means “the land favored by Bodhisattva”. Tagong Grassland covers an area of 712.37 sqkm, sheep and yaks are wandering on the massive rich grassland. According to the legend in this area, Princess Wencheng brought a golden statue as twelve-year-old Sakyamuni on her way to Lhasa for her wedding to Tibetan King. When she passed this place, the statue became very heavy and could not be lifted. Just when the followers didn’t know how to deal with the situation, the Sakyamuni Statues started to talk, said that he loves this place and would like to stay here. However, this Buddhist Statue is a treasured present from Emperor Taizong of Tang to Srongtsen Gampo represent the friendship of two countries, therefore can not be left here, so the princess asked accompanying craftsmen to make a replica of the Buddha Statue and consecrated at this place.
Tagong Monastery
built right at the heart of the town during Qing Dynasty to consecrated the replica of the scared statue of Sakyamuni at Jokhang Temple in Lhasa along with scriptures of the Sakya Buddhist sect and other cultural relics more than 1000 years old. A major three-day Buddha event is held at the end of June every year at the Monastery, travelers can participate in temple activities, including meditation and daily circumambulation.
Tagong Grassland (塔公草原)
is a vast expanse of meadow covering an area of 712.37 sqkm and located at 3900m asl. These beautiful grasslands are home to Tibetan nomads grazing their herds of yaks and living in traditional black yak wool tents. Under the blue sky, the yaks flocks in the vast prairie wide.

The small Tibetan villages scattered artistically on both sides of the Road 318 with clear streams following through, the white polar trees standing in front of the houses in row, shining in golden when autumn coming, yaks and goats grazing leisurely on the grassland.

Ganden Thubchen Choekhorling Monastery (Litang Temple)
